House Progress!

This is a random picture from a couple nights ago when we were working on getting the house ready for progress to begin.

May 15 - accident happened, called insurance, adjuster will be here "within 2-3 days..." Stayed at Comfort Inn thru May 17
May 18 - Move to Residence Inn - 2 bed/bath suite with kitchenette and living space
May 22 - adjuster comes
May 25 - adjuster says the house needs to be seen by a structural engineer, before we can move forward.  He has called one and requested an assessment ASAP
May 28-31-The kids and I went to KS and had a wonderful time.
June 2 - Structural engineer looks things over - "will send report"
June 7 - Called adjuster - still no report from structural engineer.  Darrell calls structural engineer "Is there any way I can help you get this finished?"  He needs a couple pictures from the attic - no problem.  Sent pictures.
June 11 - It looks like the contents claim is going thru
June 13 - We have the go ahead to work on the house.  We didn't want to plow in and find out insurance wouldn't approve/pay so we waited so as not to leave the contractor high and dry.  And ironically, this was the day that we were going to go away for our 10 year anniversary.  We went to Guthrie, OK and stayed at a nice little bed and breakfast.  It was a wonderful, relaxing 24 hours away.
June 18 - pulled down some sheet rock and had fun working together.
June 19 - first, official contractor-on-site day.
June 20 - front door framed, window framed...its moving forward!  More sheet rock is coming down as I type.  Maybe this is gonna happen afterall!

Thank you for all of your prayers.  God continues to take care of us - surely this little bump in our road is no surprise to him.  He has proven that over and over again - I actually have been listing the ways, but they wouldn't really make sense unless you lived them...

I hope to put more picture updates on here, but right now I can't find my camera anywhere!  I can use Darrell's phone & I plan to do that more soon.

Oh Liz, I don't know how you have survived with all your kids in this situation and still be "sane"! Been checking every once in awhile to see what your progress is, and I'm sooooo happy you're finally being able to "get somewhere" with your remodeling! Keep your chin up above the water! Love you guys, Sharon & Paul Knight

Bless you dear heart, Liz! I've been praying lots for y'all as you have crossed my mind. I'm glad that things are happening...although the process is lots slower than we would want it.
I wish I could just flick my finger and you'd be back in your house and have everything be beautiful again. I know what you mean about lots of little things working out to show us that God has forgotten about us. Isn't is so wonderful that He loves and takes care of His children?! =)

Praying for y'all!
Blessings,
~Heather~
